HOW COMMISSIONS WORK
Have an idea in mind? I’d love to hear about it!
Every commission is created specifically for the client, so the process begins with learning a little about your project, what you’re looking for, and how I can bring your idea to life.
01 — Choose Your Commission
Take a look at the commission pricing above to get an idea of the type of artwork you’re interested in and the starting price for your project.
Prices listed are starting rates and may vary depending on the complexity of the artwork, number of characters, background detail, revisions, intended usage, or other project-specific needs.
02 — Submit an Inquiry
Fill out the commission inquiry form below with as much information about your project as possible. Helpful details include the type of commission you’re interested in, your idea or concept, characters or subjects you’d like included, intended use, desired dimensions, deadline (if applicable), and any other details you already have in mind.
Don’t worry if you don’t have everything figured out yet!
Part of the commission process is working together to develop your idea.
03 — Project Review & Quote
Once I receive your inquiry, I’ll review your project and contact you by email to discuss the details. If the project is a good fit and I have availability, I’ll provide a final quote based on the scope and complexity of the commission. We’ll also discuss the expected timeline, deliverables, and any special requirements before moving forward.
04 — Contract & Deposit
Once the project details are approved, you’ll receive a commission agreement outlining the artwork, price, timeline, usage rights, and other project terms.
A 50% non-refundable deposit and signed agreement are required to officially reserve your commission and begin work. The remaining balance is due according to the payment schedule outlined in your agreement.
05 — Sketches & Approval
Now the fun begins!
I’ll develop the initial concept and sketches for your commission and send them to you for review. This is the best stage for discussing composition, poses, major design decisions, and other significant changes.
Once the sketch is approved, I’ll move forward with the final artwork.
06 — Final Artwork
After approval, I’ll bring the piece through the final rendering and polish stages. Depending on the project, you may receive progress updates or additional approval checkpoints along the way.
Minor adjustments may be made during this stage, while major changes to an already approved concept may require an additional fee.
07 — Final Payment & Delivery
Once the artwork is complete, I’ll send you a final preview for approval. After the remaining balance has been paid, your finished high-resolution artwork will be delivered digitally in the file format(s) specified in your agreement.
If your commission includes a physical product or print, production and shipping details will be discussed separately.
